Based on available evidence, that opening EYE*nngh! ought probably properly be EWE*nngh. My best guess is that this coinage, seen exclusively in late 2002, is a semi-phonetic gerund which denotes the act of making a “Ewwww” noise of disgust, in that regard prefiguring Danny’s later and less ambiguous BOO*ing— but in any case I’m leaving this as it ran in the paper.
